Eagles Tie Against Georgia Military

Milledgeville, GA - After having a pair of games canceled last week, the Emory Oxford women's soccer competed against the Bulldogs of Georgia Military College. The Eagles ended the game with a 3-3 tie.

The Eagles had three different players score. The first goal came in the 32nd minute when sophomore Isabela Schmalz passed it to freshman teammate Gianna McIntire who scored her first goal of the year. That was the only goal the Eagles scored in the first half.

In the 64th minute, the Eagles scored their second goal when freshman Louisa Gammill netted her first goal of the year. Sophomore Isabel Staton assisted in the play. Eight minutes later, the Eagles drew a penalty and Schmalz capitalized and scored her fifth of the season.

Sophomore Hannah Bodus received her first start on goal and came up with nine saves.

"I think we played pretty well today and our hard work in practice has been paying off," commented Coach Ruth Geiger.

The Eagles will return home to compete against Oglethorpe University. This game is scheduled for October 18th for a 7:00 PM start. This will be the Eagles' sophomore night.
