The Emory Oxford women's soccer team suffered a 6 to 0 loss to Gordon State College during their first home match of the season. The Eagles dropped to 0-2 on the season. Gordon State College improved to 1-3.
Both teams could not convert on early scoring opportunities as the play was evenly match for most of the first half. Gordon scored their first goal with two minutes to go before halftime and then scored a minute later to take a 2 to 0 advantage into halftime.
Emory Oxford had their chances in the second half but failed to capitalize, allowing Gordon to take control of the game.
The Eagles will have a chance to redeem themselves in their upcoming game against South Georgia State College. This will be their 2nd home game on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Game time is set for 6:30pm.
