Women's Tennis Wins 7-2 Against Coastal Alabama

The Emory Oxford women's tennis team defeated Coastal Alabama Community College on Saturday by a final tally of 7-2.

The Eagles swept doubles play in the home match. On court one, freshman Grace Wang and sophomore Lily McCain won their doubles set 9-8. In the ensuing court, sophomore Mayuri Charan and freshman Livia He won by a score of 8-5. Finally, sophomore Allie Lucky and freshman Shankari Theivanayagam bested their opponents by a margin of 9-7.

Emory Oxford went 4-2 in singles play. Wang (6-1, 6-1), McCain (6-4, 6-2), Charan (6-3, 6-2), and freshman Yolanda Yang (6-0, 6-0) all claimed victories for the Eagles. This was Yang's first victory of the year. 

The Emory Oxford women's tennis team will return to the courts on November 4th for the NJCAA National Tournament in Peachtree City, Georgia. The Eagles will look to win their seventh consecutive title, eight overall at the tournament.
