Oxford, Ga. - The men's and women's tennis teams faced Oglethorpe University as part of their fall season.

The women defeated the visiting Stormy Petrels 6-3.

In doubles, Lily Liu and Yolanda Yang won second doubles 8-5. Teammates Shankari Theivanayagam and Lynn Zhang won third doubles by a score of 8-5.

For singles, Marie Chantel defeated her opponent 6-7, 6-0, 11-9. The doubles duo of Liu (6-1, 6-0) and Yang (7-5, 6-2) also won their singles matches. The final singles win for the Eagles came from Theivanayagam with a score of 6-0, 7-5.

The men's team lost 9-0.

Emory Oxford will compete again Nov. 10 at Piedmont University. The match is set for a 3 p.m. start.
