Amanda Yu-Nguyen is the Director of the Center for Healthful Living at Oxford College. She joined Oxford in October 2010 as the college’s health educator and became director in January 2013. She provides leadership for Oxford’s health and wellness center. In her role, she is accountable for the oversight and coordination of the components of the Center for Healthful Living, which include credit-bearing courses, health education and promotion, facilities management, intercollegiate athletics, intramural athletics and recreational activities. The Center for Healthful Living strives to educate the mind and exercise the body in the context of a liberal arts institution. Yu-Nguyen also serves on the steering committee for Healthy Emory. 

Before joining Oxford, Yu-Nguyen worked at the University of Michigan’s Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Program, where she developed and implemented harm reduction training to at-risk adolescent populations such as fraternity members and first-year students. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Brain, Behavior and Cognitive Science and a master’s degree in public health, both from the University of Michigan. 

When not at the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, endurance running and trying out new restaurants in Atlanta.
