Men's basketball falls 103-77 in first game of season

Sophomore Zuri Greene scored a career-high 34 points in the first game of the men's basketball season as the team was defeated 103-77 by the visiting Georgia Highlands Reserve Squad.  

The two teams kept an even pace in the first, with the score being 39-37 in favor of Georgia Highlands at halftime.

In the second, the Eagles got off to a slow start which allowed the Chargers to increase their lead by 10 points less than three minutes into the half. Georgia Highlands kept at least a ten-point lead for the remainder of the game.

In addition to his 34 points, Greene also had 19 rebounds for the first double-double of his career. He also had six assists. Fellow sophomore Josh Kim added 14 points and five rebounds. Sophomore Andrew Anton and freshman Aidan Chung each had seven points in the game. As a whole, the Eagles shot 64.5% from the free throw line.

Next, Emory Oxford will travel to take on the Emmanuel College Reserve Squad on Saturday, Nov. 4. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
