Men's Tennis Drops First Match of Spring Season

Hanceville, AL - The defending National Champions Emory Oxford men's tennis team returned to action against Wallace State Community College-Hanceville earlier today and suffered a 7-2 loss. 

The two wins came in singles play with sophomore Kavi Jain winning first singles 2-6, 6-2, 6-1. The other Oxford win came from freshman Michael Ru, who claimed third singles 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. 

"We played a tough team today against Wallace State and they came out and competed well against us," commented Head Coach Pernilla Hardin. "Our boys will learn from this and prepare for our next match."

The Eagles will travel to Mississippi next weekend (Feb 8-9) as they will compete in three matches. On Saturday (Feb. 8), they will play Jones College at 9:00AM and then play Hinds Community College at 3:00PM. The following day (Feb. 9), they will compete against Meridian Community College with matches beginning at 9:00AM. All matches will be played at Meridian Community College.
