Holmes Edges Women's Soccer In Overtime

Birmingham, AL - Two late goals by the Bulldogs of Holmes Community College in the final four minutes of regulation led to a tough loss for the Emory Oxford women's soccer team. The Eagles drop to 5-3 for the season.

The Eagles built a commanding 3-1 lead going into the final minutes of regulation. Goals were scored by freshmen Emma AlonsoLaurel Ivanoski, and sophomore Quinn Paulus. However, the Bulldogs continued to attack and were able to score off two corners to force the game into overtime. Unfortunately, Holmes secured the game winning goal.

"This was a tough loss for us and we have to do a better job of closing teams out," commented Interim Head Coach Harry Kustick.

The Eagles will look to bounce back as they have a rematch with Georgia Military College on Thursday (Oct. 17). Kickoff is set for 7:00PM.
