Demasi's Hat Trick Leads Oxford to Win; Plays Championship Tomorrow

Arnold, MD - Freshman Willa Demasi recorded her first hat trick of her career to lead the Emory Oxford women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Anne Arundel Community College. The Eagles improve to 7-4 and will now compete for the District Championship and a spot in the National Tournament tomorrow.

In the first half, Demasi scored her first goal in the 19th minute to put the Eagles up 1-0. The Eagles continued to attack as they held a 16-3 advantage in shots throughout the game. This aggressive play lead to Demasi's second goal, when she received a pass from classmate Laurel Ivanoski in the 41st minute. The Eagles went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The second half was the same story, as Oxford dominated play and continued their aggresive attack. In the 85th minute, freshman Ellen Harnisch found Demasi who netted her third goal and sealed the victory for the Eagles.

"Our team came out today and competed extremely well," commeneted Interim Head Coach Harry Kustick. "We will rest up and look ahead to a tough opponent in Howard tomorrow."

The Eagles will play for the Distrcit Championship tomorrow (Nov. 2) at 11:00AM. They will face a familiar foe in Howard Community College, who knocked off the Eagles last year in District play.
