Emory Oxford Cross Country teams compete in Newberry Invitationals

The Emory Oxford men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Newberry, SC to compete in the Newberry Invitationals. The event featured primarily Division II competition. The Emory Oxford teams traveled to the event on the heels of GCAA Regional Championship victories for both teams last Wednesday. 

In the women's 5k, sophomore Joyce Zhang ran a 20:47 to pace the Eagles. Sophomore Sophia Lee ran a 21:04 and freshman Nancy Puente ran a 21:05.

Sophomore Emily Wilhelm (21:16), freshman Madeleine Lepley (21:35), and sophomore Urvi Vallapareddy (23:27) also contributed.

In the men's 8k, freshman Timothy Park led the way running a 28:51. Sophomore Tommy Pan finished in 29:37 and sophomore Andrew Johnson ran a 34:13. Sophomores Reed Karman and Benjamin Fargnoli ran at times of 38:14 and 39:57, respectively.

Both teams will be back in action for the NJCAA DIII National Championship on Saturday, November 5th.
