Men's and Women's Cross Country Kick Start Season at Point University Invivitational

Point Valley, AL - The Oxford College of Emory University men's and women's cross country teams competed in their first event of the year at the Point Invitational hosted by NAIA Point University. The men's team finished in second place. The women's team who finished third in the nation last year, fell short of the required number of runners to score as a team. 

In the men's 8k, four athletes placed in the Top 10. Freshman Oliver Campbell led the way for the Eagles with a time of 28.06.5. Sophomore Virat Vishwanadhula finished right behind him with a time of 28.07.1, while sophomore runner Timothy Park finished in 29.41.2.  Freshman Joseph Woloszyn finished with a time of 30.16.9 to round out the Top 10.

In the women's 5k, sophomore Madeleine Lepley finished in the Top 10 with a score of 22.45.3. Freshman Noemi Felipe finished just out the Top 15 with a score of 32.00.6

The Eagles will return to action on Friday, September 22nd, at the Brewton Parker Invitational.
