Cross country teams run personal bests at Alexander/ASICS Invitational

Fairburn, Ga. - For the Emory Oxford men's and women's cross country teams, the Alexander/ASICS Invitational was a day of bests.

The seven runners for the men's team all ran personal bests, helping the team finish in eighth place overall.

Freshman Oliver Campbell (27:16.02), freshman Timothy Park (27:27.60), and sophomore Virat Vishwanadhula (27:35.59) all finished in the top 50 out of more than 100 runners. Freshman Joseph Woloszyn was not far behind with a time of 28:34.71. Rounding out the scoring for the men was freshman Misha Filippovsky with a finish of 31:16.61.

Freshmen Paul Goblirsch (31:58.91) and Fletcher Martin (36:07.51) also ran for the Eagles.

Sophomore Madeleine Lepley was the lone runner for the women and finished with her best time of the season (22:17.89).

Head coach Ella O'Kelley was proud of her runners at the meet.

"Today was a good day," she said. "Everyone did well. I look forward to seeing how they can improve at the next meet."

The next meet for the cross country teams will be the University of Huntsville in Alabama Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 7.
