Alejandro Abarca was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He is a graduate of Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) in theater and the University of Houston with a BA in Theater, with a concentration in dance. He began dancing in Houston with many choreographers and companies before moving to Atlanta to continue his performance and choreographic endeavors. During that time, Alejandro had the pleasure of performing in various places across the country and abroad. He has also co-produced and co-choreographed two evening length works. He later went on to receive his MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where he danced in works by Kay Cummings, Sean Curran, Jose Limon and, Vita Osojnik. Alejandro has extended his physical practice beyond dance to include other physical modalities such as aerial arts and yoga.
