Women's soccer dominates Andrew College 9-0

Cuthbert, Ga. - The Emory Oxford women's soccer team were in control the entire game in a 9-0 win over Andrew College on Sunday afternoon.

Three Eagles scored two goals each. The team had 44 shots total, including more than 30 in the second half. First-year Paloma Salazar had 12 of those shots and scored two goals, including one on a penalty kick.

Sophomore Elena Charria got the scoring started 30 minutes into the game on an unassisted goal. Salazar scored eight minutes later with an assist from classmate Claudia Fodor. Sophomore Sarah Speed scored the last goal of the half.

Salazar got the scoring going in the second half on a penalty kick. First-years Vivian Zhu and Renie Harris scored twice within the span of three minutes. Zhu assisted on the Harris goal. First-year Adelaide Reinshagen and Speed scored the final two goals of the game.

Sophomore goalie Margaux Davis made three saves in the game. The women's soccer team is now 4-4 this season.

The women's soccer team next plays Southern Union State Community College at home on Monday, Oct. 7. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.
