Women's soccer defeats Andrew College 5-0

Cuthbert, Ga. - The Emory Oxford women's soccer team won its first game of the season 5-0 on the road against Andrew College.

The Eagles scored early, less than 10 minutes into the game. Sophomore co-captain Claudia Fodor scored her first goal of the season with an assist from sophomore co-captain Vivian Zhu. Later in the game at the 33 minute mark, sophomore Paloma Salazar scored her first goal of the season. Six minutes later, she scored again to put Emory Oxford up 3-0. Sophomore Adelaide Reinshagen assisted on Salazar's first goal.

Zhu scored six minutes into the second half, while sophomore Ella Sund scored with five seconds left in the game to complete the 5-0 win.

First-year Paulina Yang had zero saves in goal for the Eagles. Emory Oxford is 1-1 this season.

The Eagles will next face Central Georgia Technical College at home on Monday, Sept. 8. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m.
