Oxford College of Emory University Assistant Director, Campus Recreation, Jose Cueva, has announced that Alex Waxman will be the next aquatics coordinator in the recreation department.
Waxman joins Oxford College of Emory University after a year at the University of Georgia, where he spent time as the senior coordinator of aquatics. While at UGA, Waxman assisted with taking care of the four pools on campus, supervised a staff of more than 100 students and planned programming throughout the year.
"I'm excited to be joining the Oxford," Waxman said. "I can't wait to be part of this team and work with the students when they arrive in the fall."
In addition to working at UGA, Waxman has also spent time as a lifeguard instructor, summer camp aquatics director and ultimate frisbee club coach.
He lives in Atlanta and earned his bachelor's degree in biology at Georgia State University. Outside of work, Waxman likes to be active and creative.
"We are so glad to have Alex join the CHL and oversee our aquatics program," Cueva said. "He brings extensive experience and will be a valuable addition to the Oxford community."
