
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced the 2023-2024 Academic Teams of the Year. These are the programs that achieved the highest GPA in their respective sport throughout the academic year.
For Emory Oxford, the men's basketball team and men's tennis team were awarded with the honor of Academic Teams of the Year for this year. This is the second year in a row the men's basketball team won this award, and the third time in five years. The team finished with a 3.6 GPA, which tied for first place with East Mississippi Community College. Men's tennis finished with a 3.8 GPA.
Multiple teams finished in second place this year, including men's cross country (3.65), men's golf (3.84), and men's soccer (tied for second with 3.61).
Women's golf finished in fifth this year and women's soccer was ninth. Women's tennis finished in the top 20, while women's cross country finished in the top 30.
Emory Oxford was one of four schools to have multiple teams win Academic Team of the Year.
In order to make the list, a team has to have a GPA over 3.0. This is the 12th consecutive year all teams have maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher.
