No. 14 Sandhills Snap Men’s Basketball’s Win Streak

Oxford, GA – The Emory Oxford men's basketball faced off against the 14th-ranked Sandhills Community College and lost 109-82. The Eagles now have a 9-10 record, including 3-5 in league play. On the other hand, the Flyers are now 18-6, including a perfect 6-0 in the conference. The Eagles stand in third place, while the Flyers are in the top spot.

Four Eagles registered double-digit points and were led by sophomores Nick Nist and Dante Conley-Leonardi, who both had 16 points. Freshmen Sean Osei and Nick Hardin scored 14 and 11 points to round out the top scorers for Emory Oxford. Hardin grabbed a team-high seven rebounds while classmate KJ Walker had five assists.

The Eagles struggled to keep the Flyers from scoring as they had seven players in double figures. The Flyers were dominant in almost every category, including points in the paint (58-46), second-chance points (22-4) and points of turnovers (25-7).

This week, the Eagles will have two games on the road, first taking on Brewton Parker College JV in Mount Vernon, GA. That game is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:00 PM. They will play Sandhills again on Saturday (Feb. 5) in North Carolina at 1:00 PM.
