
Waleska, Ga. - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team lost a close game on the road to Reinhardt University JV. The final score was 72-71.
The Eagles led with less than a minute left in the game, but Reinhardt was able to take the lead after scoring on a rebound from a missed three pointer. The game was close throughout, with the biggest lead being six points, held by the Eagles late in the second half. Emory Oxford also led 41-36 at halftime.
This was the first game for most members of the team, as the Eagles have only two returners. In their first collegiate games, first-years Ved Desai and Adeniyi Ogunlana had double-doubles. Desai led the team with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Ogunlana had 14 points and 10 rebounds. First-year Leo Etah also had 14 points in his first college game. First-year Tyler Pavlik had six rebounds. The Eagles also out rebounded their opponents 49-31.
Emory Oxford next faces Emmanuel University JV on the road. Game time is 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7.
