Men's basketball falls to Southern Wesleyan JV 76-73

Central, S.C. - The Emory Oxford men's basketball dropped another close game on the road with a 76-73 loss to Southern Wesleyan University JV.

Although Southern Wesleyan led for the entire first half, the Eagles kept the game close and were only down by four at the half.

In the second, the Eagles found themselves down by 10 with less than seven minutes remaining in the game. Emory Oxford was able to tie the game at 71 with just under three minutes left on a dunk by first-year Leo Etah with a long assist past half court from first-year Adeniyi Ogunlana

First-year Sam Chin tied the game again at 73 with under a minute to play. In the end, Southern Wesleyan made a layup and hit one free throw to end the game with a three point lead.

Etah led both teams with 32 points. He also had 14 rebounds and four assists. First-year Ved Desai also had a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. He also went 8-9 at the foul line. Ogunlana had nine points and 13 rebounds.

The Eagles return home to face Sandhills Community College on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m.
