Men's basketball falls on Sophomore Day

Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team lost a close game at home on Sophomore Day. Visiting Georgia Christian College won 85-81.

The Eagles fell behind early in the first half and found themselves down by 12 five minutes in. With less than four minutes left, two three-pointers by first-year Sam Chin and one by first-year Nick Yatros closed Georgia Christian's lead to two points before the visitors scored with seconds left to take a 46-42 lead into halftime.

With a little over two minutes left, first-year Ved Desai tied the game at 81. Soon after, Georgia Christian hit a three-pointer and held on for the win.

First-year Leo Etah led Emory Oxford with 23 points. He also had 18 rebounds and six assists. Desai and first-year Jason Kim each had 15 points. Desai also had 15 rebounds. Kim had six assists. Chin added 11 points.

The Eagles end the regular season with a record of 10-17.

Emory Oxford will next play in the NJCAA Region 10/17 Tournament on Friday, Feb. 21.
