On July 2023, Jose Cueva was named Assistant Director, Campus Recreation. He will oversee the entire campus recreation department, including club sports, intramurals, aquatics, outdoor recreation and group fitness.
Cueva previously served as Coordinator, Sports Information and Events & Marketing from 2021-2023. Before this position, he served as a Graduate Assistant for three years, assisting with the men's basketball team and the athletic department. He also served as the assistant head men's basketball coach for the 2021-2022 season.
Cueva is from Jacksonville Beach, FL and competed for the Eagles from 2014 to 2016 as a member of the men's basketball team. His team won 35 games during those two years and captured the program's first Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Conference Tournament Title in 2016. Cueva was named an NJCAA All-Region performer during his sophomore year. He earned his bachelor's degree in Human Health at Emory and his master's in Sport Administration from Georgia State.
