Men’s Golf Competes in Regionals; Bhasin Named to All-Tournament Team

Tennille, GA - The Emory Oxford men's golf team traveled down to compete in the NJCAA Region XVII (GCAA) Championship. The 36-hole tournament was held at Twin City Country Club, a 6,557-yard par-72 course. The players completed all 36-holes on the same day. 

Leading the way for the Eagles was freshman Sachin Bhasin who carded a 158 (79-79) for the tournament. This led to a tie for 5th-place and earned him an All-Tournament selection, the first in Emory Oxford history. Following him was classmate Doug Markovitz who recorded a total of 171 (86-85). Sophomore Sahil Malhotra showed some consistency scoring an 87 on the first 18-holes and then an 88 to have a total of 175. Freshman Luke Koon improved on his first 18-hole total by 13 strokes, recording a 181 (97-84) total. 

The Eagles will finish up at the Emory Invitational hosted at Cherokee Run Golf Club in Conyers, GA. The 54-hole event will be played on Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17.
