Men’s Golf Concludes Season at Emory Invitational

Conyers, GA - The Emory Oxford men's golf team competed in their final event of the season at the Emory Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event was held not too far from campus at Cherokee Run Golf Club, a 6905-yard, par-72 course. 

On the first day of action, the players played 36-consecutive holes after a one-hour delay due to weather. Freshman Sachin Bhasin opened with an 82 and finished his second round with an 83 to post a 165 total. Sophomore Sahil Malhotra continued his consistent play from the previous tournament posting a 170 (86-84). Freshman Doug Markovitz finished with a 184 (93-91), while classmate Luke Koon improved on his second-round total by 7-strokes to post a 199 (103-96). 

On the final day, the players were presented with terrific weather conditions. Bhasin shot a team-low 79 to post a total of 244. Markovitz improved on his second-round total by ten strokes, posting an 81 to finish with a 265. Koon also showed improvement, shooting a 92 and an overall 291. Malhotra finished his final round with a 98, posting a 268 total. Freshman Nick Hardin was the only other competitor for Emory Oxford during the weekend.
