Brian Cheek Named Head Coach of Emory Oxford Men’s and Women’s Golf

Oxford College of Emory University Athletic Director, Roderick Stubbs has announced that Brian Cheek will be the next head coach of the men's and women's golf program. 

Cheek comes from a golf professional background. He served as the Player Development Professional at Planterra Club (GA) and Assistant Golf Professional at Portsmouth Country Club (NH). He has also served as the Assistant Golf Professional at Palmetto Hall Country Club (SC) & Bandon Dunes Golf Resort (OR). 

Before working in the golf industry, Cheek was involved in the corporate space. He was the CEO of the Manchester Monarchs Hockey Club in New Hampshire and worked for different companies before that. Cheek served in numerous roles at boarding schools nationwide, where he coached ice hockey, lacrosse, mountain biking and golf, including the role of President / Head of School for Wayland Academy.

"We are excited to welcome Brian to the team and help lead our golf program to new heights," said Stubbs. "During our conversations with him, we were impressed with his coaching philosophy and commitment to student-athlete's success." 

Cheek is set to begin his duties with Oxford in June of 2023.
