Two Free-Kicks Push Eagles Past #8-Ranked Prince George

Arnold, MD - Freshmen Jason Im and Lennox Elrod each scored on a free-kick helping the Emory Oxford men's soccer team defeat the No.-8 ranked Prince George Community College 2-0. The Eagles improve to 10-2-1 and will play for the District Championship tomorrow.

The Eagles went on the attack early and drew their first penalty in the third minute. Im confidently stepped up and kick the ball over the wall and past the keeper for his 8th goal of the season. Oxford went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.

In second half, it was a back-and-forth battle as neither side was able to find the advantage. In the 70th minute, the Eagles got another free kick and this time Elrod netted his second goal of the year.

Sophomore Zack Tuke had 9 saves in the Eagle's fifth clean sheet of the season.

"This is an awesome feeling winning the program's first playoff game," commented Greg Moss-Brown, Head Coach. "Our team played terrific in this victory."

The Eagles will play for the District Championship and for a spot in the National tournament tomorrow at 2:00PM. They will play the number-1 seed Howard Community College.
