
Macon, Ga. - The Emory Oxford men's and women's cross country teams ran in their first meet of the season at the Julius Johnson Invitational held by Mercer University.
In a field of more than 100 runners, which included athletes from NCAA Division I and II and NAIA schools, sophomore Oliver Campbell finished 31st overall with a time of 27:18.01.
Sophomore Joseph Woloszyn finished in the top half of the field for the Eagles with a time of 28:55.98. Sophomores Fletcher Martin (35:07.49) and Paul Goblirsch (35:18.76) also competed for Emory Oxford. First-year Sam Birkner also competed for the Eagles.
The women finished eighth overall as a team. Sophomore Peri Rhoads finished in the top half of the field in her first collegiate race with a time of 22:35.09. In her first collegiate race, sophomore Riley Collis finished close behind Rhoads with a time of 23:20.67. Sophomores Natasha Weinberg (25:30.24) and Lauren Grove (25:42.30) also competed in their first collegiate race for the Eagles. First-year Christina Tsarampari (27:35.90) rounded out the top five runners for Emory Oxford. First-year Roseline Onyeike also ran for the Eagles.
Emory Oxford will next race at the Real Men Run event in Lilburn, Georgia.
