Women's soccer beats Central Georgia Technical College 4-1

Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford women's soccer team defeated visiting Central Georgia Technical College 4-1 at home Monday evening during their Ovarian Cancer Awareness game.

Central Georgia scored a quick goal in the first two minutes of the game. After that, it was all Eagles.

First-year Keren Kish scored her first goal to tie up the game for Emory Oxford midway through the half. The Central Georgia goalkeeper made the save initially on a ball kicked by first-year Paloma Salazar but Kish scored on the rebound.

Later in the half, first-year Vivian Zhu put the Eagles ahead when she kicked the ball over the goalie's head into the goal. First-year Claudia Fodor assisted on the goal.

Midway through the second half, Emory Oxford scored again. Fodor scored off of a free kick from Salazar. Salazar kicked the ball toward the goal and Fodor got a piece of it to get the ball past the goalie and put the Eagles up by two.

Sophomore Elena Charria scored the final goal of the game toward the end of the half off of a penalty kick.

Sophomore goalie Margaux Davis made 13 saves.

The Eagles are now 2-3 overall.

The team next plays against Gordon State College away on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
