Women's Tennis Falls Short to Piedmont

The Emory Oxford women's tennis team had their season opener against Piedmont University on Thursday afternoon. The Eagles fell short of the victory, losing 5-4 to the Lions. 

The Eagles picked up one win in doubles play, with sophomore Mayuri Charan and Livia He winning 8-1 on court two. 

In singles play, Emory Oxford would split the six matches, with Piedmont winning on courts three, four and six. Sophomore Lily McCain won on court three 7-6 (9-7), 6-2. Meanwhile, Charan would win her second match of the day on court four, 6-1, 6-3. Her doubles teammate would claim sixth singles, 6-0, 6-1. This was also He's second win of the day. 

Next, the Eagles will compete in the ITA Tournament in Tifton, GA. The tournament is from September 23 to September 25.
